Mark Dannenfelser is founding director of the Mindfulness Center of Atlanta. The mission of the Mindfulness Center is to increase the wellbeing, healing and clinical outcomes of those experiencing chronic stress, psychological distress, cancer and chronic illness using evidence-based, integrative, mind-body practices, offered through training courses, retreats and counseling.
Mark is a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, traumatic loss, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. He is a certified spiritual director, a registered yoga teacher, and is a Contemplative Outreach commissioned presenter of the Centering Prayer Method.
Mark is Adjunct Lecturer in the Graduate Division of Theology and Ministry at Spring Hill College, where he teaches pastoral counseling. He is also the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University speaker on Contemplative Prayer and The Centering Prayer Method .
Professionally, Mark is most interested in working at the point of intersection between spiritual practice and healing.
Amanda Trevelino is a registered Yoga Alliance teacher, and she enjoys sharing styles of movement that range from cool Yin and therapeutics to hot yoga and beginner or intermediate vinyasa. She’s passionate about self health, certified in plant-based nutrition, and is pursuing advanced certifications at both Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Massachusetts, and at Nosara Yoga Institute, Costa Rica. Additionally, she’s a Self-Awakening Yoga Therapeutics® practitioner, studies Pranakriya Yoga Therapy and practices Thai Massage at the Spa at Serenbe.
When not on a mat, Amanda enjoys volunteering on an organic farm. As a parent, she cultivates a willingness to “unlearn.” As sister of a cancer survivor, she longs to advocate for greater awareness of the body’s capacity to reveal and heal. In addition to periodically teaching group yoga classes for Zoetic, Amanda teaches regularly at Candler Park Yoga, Bending Branch Yoga, subs at studios throughout the Atlanta community and sees private clients by appointment.
